After having lived and worked together for more than 1 month Angel told me that I just live in my Bermuda Triangle, that I never get out of it.

It still surprises me when someone can read my life better than me myself.

He is right but actually, my Triangle has 4 corners.

So here is my Bermuda Square.

  1. At Walmart I buy groceries, other food and goodies. Essential for the health of my body.
  2. At Bikram Yoga New Orleans I take care of my soul. I keep my body and mind stronger and more flexible.
  3. At Mojo Coffee Shop I can focus on my online business  and can take time for myself.
  4. At The Atlas House Hostel I live and volunteer. Here is where I develop new professional skills and socialize.

That´s my life.

That´s all I need to be happy.

Apart from that, once in a while I go out for lunch or dinner with friends-

And once in a while I enjoy walking to the Riverside, sitting down there and reading, thinking or just looking at the Mississippi River.

But basically that´s it.

Because in my Bermuda Square:

  • I get to know people
  • I can read
  • I can develop my online business
  • I learn from colleages and from experiences at work
  • I can go deep into myself in yoga
  • I can work on my body, I am losing weight and getting in good shape
  • I stay healthy by cooking my own food
  • I am challenged to learn a new profession
  • I can have both deep and completely shallow conversations
  • I can be myself

Simple as that.

Why would I need anything else?

Why would I need anthing fancier?

I know you leave tomorrow.

I know I won´t see you anymore.

I know it is impossible

But it feels so good here, just seating next to you, just talking, just letting time pass by.

7.000 kilometers away and it feels home.

In your armchair.

I sense the void, while my broken heart floats in the middle, falling down, it is a ball of empty pain compressing my chest backwards, letting me with no handles to grab.

I would love to stay.

(please stay)

But I´d rather leave. Take distance. It hurts. Time will cure it.

The more I practice yoga, the deeper I can go.

Deeper in stretching.

And deeper in meditation.

One day I was doing the sitting postures of the Bikram series and I realized that I could be more aware of the breathing.

I started paying more atention to it.

That helped me slow down the pace of breathing.

A lot.

It was suprisingly easy.

Although the heart was beating strong and quickly,

Although the postures were hard to hold,

Although it was 40ºC and I had been sweating for one hour straight,

I found it extremely easy to slow down the rythm of breathing. I could breath in slowly. And breathing out was even slower. Then I could hold the breath for seconds, without suffering, feeling the strong heart beats in all my body. They also became slower little by little.

All this brought me to an estate of deep meditation and focus, which lead to a feeling of purpose and calmness.

Just by focusing on your breathe, you can get closer to your soul, to that estate of calm happiness, no matter what is happening around.

It is only you and your breathe.

Breath in.

And consciously breath out.

Slowly.

It is 9:30 am.

I see her coming in

And all of a sudden I understand it.

I woke up at 7 am.

I stretched.

I wrote in paper my next blog post (this one); it took me a while.

I had breakfast.

I spent some time talking to the other volunteers at the hostel.

I helped with something in the kitchen.

I came to the coffee shop.

I ordered my tea.

I sat down and opened my computer.

And then she comes in.

Even though it is quite early, she is wearing sport clothes and seems like she already exercised.

She turns her computer on.

She is an early bird.

I like the mornings, too.

Waking up early.

It is silent.

It is quiet.

Sometimes people try to convince me that going to bed early and waking up early is the lifestyle of old people.

Sometimes I try to convince myself that I have to go out in the evening because it is much «cooler» than being an early bird.

But I still like the early mornings.

And just by doing what I like I will find the people that also like doing what I like.

Like her.

Then I understood it.

Just do what you like.

No matter what it is. No matter what they say. No matter what you tell yourself.

Just do it.

You will feel better with yourself.

And you will find like-minded people.

Mission in a business is important.

When your mission is clear, all other decisions can easily be rooted in it.

That´s the first thing I learnt when I came to volunteer at the hostel where I am now in New Orleans. Never before a company where I worked at had ever told me about their mission.

We are missing missions.

So here is mine for my (hopefully) upcoming business.

1. Mission

Make it easy for as many travellers as possible to practice yoga, either if they do it regularly or if they never tried it before.

2. Why Yoga

Yoga brings peace of mind in everyday life.

Yoga helps you connect with yourself.

Yoga makes your body and mind stronger and more flexible.

Yoga takes you closer to happiness.

3. Why Travellers

Travellers have time.

Travellers are open to new experiences.

(Solo) Travellers are usually willing to connect with themselves.

Regular yoga practitioners miss yoga when they travel.

Travelling is not just about visiting new places. It is an opportunity to get to know yourself better, to take time to dig into your soul.

4. What

A hostel with spaces and atmosphere for the practice of yoga and meditation.

Hostels are a great place to live in community and connect with like-minded people.

Centres for yoga usually miss this social aspect of personal growth.

5. Where

In Seville.

Why there?

  • Travellers love it
  • It is easy to reach by public and private transport
  • I like the idea of contributing to make my country and my region a better place to live in and to visit

6. Ideal customer

A woman, 25-45 years old, with a good, safe and stable job.

She chases a healthy lifestyle, by taking care of her diet and doing exercise regularly.

She also likes taking care of her soul, by taking time to stay with herself, questioning her beliefs and reading non-fiction, self-help books.

She has good taste for decoration and clothing, not in the way of expensive, fashionable and fancy, but in a nice, simple, practical way.

She loves travelling.

She enjoys deep conversations as much as having fun talking about nonsense.

She likes those little things that make life worth it.

7. Anything else?

Yes.

Sauna!

I love it.

It has to be in.

10 minutes sauna + diving in cold water and repeating this cycle for 2, 3 or 4 times brings you to a estate of rebirth, as a newborn person.

It does good to your skin, your muscles, your mind and your soul.

It is another way of connecting with yourself.

Sauna must be in.
